• Post-COVID Syndrome

Establishment of a biomarker panel to characterize the PCS

Shortcut: IPA-210-PostCOV

Duration: Ongoing

Aim
Identification and application of an appropriate biomarker panel to characterize the heterogeneous post-COVID syndrome (PCS). The aim is to achieve a specific characterization of typical post-COVID subgroups, facilitating the distinction from COVID-19-independent diseases and to initiate specific therapeutic measures in the context of tertiary prevention.

Study design
Examination of a collective with a confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis or a recognized occupational disease BK 3101 according to COVID-19 “Infectious diseases, if the insured person was employed in healthcare, social welfare, or in a laboratory, or was exposed to a similar level of infection risk due to another occupational activities.”

  • Determination of immune status based on inflammatory markers
  • Establishment and validation of novel biomarkers
  • Application of these and already established biomarkers in stored sera from the post-COVID registry study to characterize patients with different symptom manifestations
