The Machinery Regulation was published in the EU Official Journal on 29.06.2023. It provides for a cut-off date, i.e. until 19.1.2027, only the Machinery Directive is to be applied by manufacturers.
From 20.1.2027, only the Machinery Regulation will apply. There is no transitional phase during which either of the two legal texts can be applied.
Declarations of conformity can refer to both the Directive and the Regulation at the same time if the product technically complies with the requirements.
Diagram 1 shows the conformity assessment procedure according to the Machinery Regulation for Annex 1, Part A.
